- 4
turkey sausages
- 2 bell
peppers (any color), thinly sliced
- 1
large onion, thinly sliced
- 2
tablespoons olive oil
- 2
cloves garlic, minced
- 1
teaspoon dried oregano
- Salt
and pepper to taste
- Optional:
4 hot dog buns or hoagie rolls for serving
Instructions:
- Preheat
your grill to medium-high heat.
- In a
large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced peppers
and onions to the skillet and sauté until they become soft and slightly
caramelized, about 8-10 minutes. Stir occasionally to prevent burning.
- While
the peppers and onions are sautéing, grill the turkey sausages. Place them
on the preheated grill and cook for about 10-12 minutes, turning
occasionally, until they are cooked through and have nice grill marks.
- Once
the sausages are done, remove them from the grill and set aside to rest
for a few minutes.
- Add
the minced garlic, dried oregano, salt, and pepper to the skillet with the
sautéed peppers and onions. Stir well to combine and cook for an
additional 1-2 minutes to let the flavors meld together.
- If
desired, lightly toast the hot dog buns or hoagie rolls on the grill.
- To
assemble the grilled turkey sausage sandwiches, place a sausage in each
bun or roll, and top with a generous portion of the sautéed peppers and
onions.
- Serve
immediately and enjoy your delicious grilled turkey sausage with sautéed
peppers and onions!
