Grilled turkey sausage with sautéed peppers and onions


 Ingredients:

  • 4 turkey sausages
  • 2 bell peppers (any color), thinly sliced
  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: 4 hot dog buns or hoagie rolls for serving

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced peppers and onions to the skillet and sauté until they become soft and slightly caramelized, about 8-10 minutes. Stir occasionally to prevent burning.
  3. While the peppers and onions are sautéing, grill the turkey sausages. Place them on the preheated grill and cook for about 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until they are cooked through and have nice grill marks.
  4. Once the sausages are done, remove them from the grill and set aside to rest for a few minutes.
  5. Add the minced garlic, dried oregano, salt, and pepper to the skillet with the sautéed peppers and onions. Stir well to combine and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes to let the flavors meld together.
  6. If desired, lightly toast the hot dog buns or hoagie rolls on the grill.
  7. To assemble the grilled turkey sausage sandwiches, place a sausage in each bun or roll, and top with a generous portion of the sautéed peppers and onions.
  8. Serve immediately and enjoy your delicious grilled turkey sausage with sautéed peppers and onions!

Note: Feel free to customize this recipe to your liking. You can add additional seasonings or toppings such as mustard, ketchup, or melted cheese to make it even more flavorful.
